I’m thrilled to share wonderful news. Sherwin-Williams has generously donated all of the primer and base-layer paint for our Veterans Art Center mural project, and the City of Grand Junction Commission on Art & Cultur has provided essential funding to help us prepare the building and bring this vision to life. Their support makes it possible for us to create a community-built mural that honors veterans, families, and the stories that shape us.
We are now ready to begin the next phase, and we would love for you to be part of it.
ARTISTS: Tyvek sheets are available for pickup at the Veterans Art Center. These will become individual artworks that form part of the large collage section of the mural. All styles and skill levels are welcome.
VOLUNTEERS: We also need helping hands for several parts of the project, including:
-
Sealing cracks in the stucco
-
Washing and prepping the building exterior
-
Assisting with filming short videos of stories, artwork, and personal reflections
-
Helping document the process as the mural comes together
This project is built on community creativity and shared effort. Whether you paint, prep, film, or simply show up with enthusiasm, you will be contributing to a piece of public art that represents resilience, service, and connection.
If you’d like to participate, please email Wendy at info@operationrevamp.org or stop by the Veterans Art Center during open hours. We’ll keep everyone updated on work days, timelines, and opportunities to get involved.
Thank you again to Sherwin-Williams and the City of Grand Junction for believing in this project and supporting our veterans through the arts.
With gratitude, Wendy Hoffman Operation Revamp / Veterans Art Center Grand Junction, Colorado
